Bobby’s Bike Hike, celebrating it’s 15th season as Chicago’s top-rated outdoor bike, walking, and food tour company, has been quite busy this winter.  Creating not one, not two, but three all-new Chicago bike tours, walking tours, and food tours launching in Chicago, just in time for warmer temps and tourism season.

Bikes, Bites and Brews: Westside Foodie Ride

beer and food tours in Chicago

After much anticipation, Bobby’s Bike Hike Chicago is proud to offer their latest spin on one of their most popular bicycle and food tours, called the Bites, Bikes and Brews: Westside Foodie Ride. This new Chicago bike tour launched April 2017 and explores the west side of Chicago; through Fulton Market, Wicker Park and Bucktown, exploring amazing neighborhood streets and utilizing Chicago’s newest outdoor addition, the 606 bike trail. With a unique mix of food sampling stops from both mom and pop stores and culinary powerhouses, guests will be able to sample foods from around the world without leaving Chicago! Guests then will be cruising to the best of Chicago’s west side neighborhoods, including Rick Bayless’ newest creation Cruz Blanca for one of their unique signature dishes, a Tlayuda. Plus, riders experience a personalized tour of their award-winning brewery with a beer sample. Then off to Ukrainian Village to indulge in what Martha Stewart called the ‘world’s best pierogis’ from Kasia’s Deli. Then ride down the tree-lined streets of funky Wicker Park to the Chicago Chop Shop for a sample of their home-made meatballs. You will love those balls! Then a ride through hipster central, Bucktown, where you’ll connect to the Bloomingdale Trail (606 trail), before stopping at the Bucktown Pub where you’ll learn the ‘Chicago Handshake’ with the help of a local legend, Malort. It’s then a gentle ride through Old Town with a stop for a sweet treat, a banana/nutella crepe from Creperie de Paris. And they save the best for last with a gorgeous Chicago lakefront trail ride back to Bobby’s Bike Hike headquarters. This tour is definitely one that will book up fast, so reservations are mandatory. Vegetarian options are available.

Chicago River Walking Tour

Chicago River Walk Sightseeing Tour

Bobby’s Bike Hike’s latest addition to their guided walking tours list is the Chicago River Walking Tour. Get up close and personal with this 1-mile walking tour where you will explore the entire Chicago Riverwalk. Chicago has seen a lot of change in its day and it’s all revolved around this great river. From the native American Pottawatomie tribe who initially claimed the land, to Chicago’s first settler DuSable, to Fort Dearborn, to the formation of a great American city, the Chicago River has been the showcase of it all. Today guests will explore the history to present, its architecture, its bridges, its tragedies, and its triumphs.  And it has had many triumphs, including successfully reversing the water flow in order to provide this city with clean drinking water. But many will say no triumph is greater than what it has come in the last couple of years, turning itself into a showcase for the world as the current Chicago Riverwalk; a mixture of entertainment, restaurants, and multi-cultural attractions that is breathing new life into what at one time was a polluted river. They run this 1.5 hour informative walking tour each Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
